About this sound

The recording behind the player

The source is Sea waves, sound 266, by DenisChardonnet, published by BigSoundBank under CC0. This site uses a processed local excerpt: converted to mono, gently peak-shaped, crossfaded into a 28.5-second loop and digitally level matched.

Waves vary naturally. “Quiet Waves” is the name of a prepared mix, not a measured sound-pressure guarantee. The full source, license and derivative details are on Audio credits.

Hear the changes before choosing

A wave texture has more movement than a continuous noise color. An adult should listen through the loop before choosing it for a background. Stop it if a swell is distracting.

The prepared mix uses ocean alone. There is no added thunder, music or noise layer. You can choose a different texture while paused without triggering playback.

A short session with a quiet ending

Check both device and browser volume, choose a timer, then press Play. The final seconds fade rather than sounding an alert.

A phone may stop audio when its screen locks or another app takes over sound. The player cannot guarantee uninterrupted overnight playback. Use the troubleshooting page for interruptions and start again only with an explicit Play or Resume.
