About WhiteNoiseForKids

A small sound tool for adults choosing an optional background for a child.

What this project does

The player offers twenty sound files, five prepared mixes and an adult-controlled timer. The main mixer’s sound icons and presets start listening; focused sound pages stay silent until Play. There are no accounts, child profiles, ads, microphone features or tracking analytics in this version.

The original mixer layout places sound icons around a central player, with an evening-garden scene and a separate menu. Scenery motion can pause the background animations; reduced-motion preferences are respected.

What this preview establishes

This is an early public version. The sound files have recorded provenance and digital measurements; adult listening on physical phones and speakers remains a release requirement. No medically calibrated sound-pressure level, clinical review or uninterrupted overnight playback is claimed.

Generated fan, rain and shushing are labeled synthetic. The nature sounds use specific CC0 recordings with processing described on Audio credits.

Editorial approach

Sound names describe their textures. Guides distinguish research on devices or adults from evidence about babies, and cite their sources next to the explanations. The site does not diagnose hearing or sleep conditions or replace a caregiver.

A contact channel is not available yet. See Contact for the preview’s current status.
